The Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) declared 7 conditions for the solution of the Kurdish problem in Iran. PJAK also reported that they are in favour of a peaceful solution and if the Iranian regime responds this declaration it will posses a historic importance.
The declaration for a democratic solution issued by the PJAK Assembly states that Iran is going through a historic and fragile process in which it is suffering economic, political, cultural and security crisis. It is also stated that Iran is surrounded in the international level.
PJAK also stated that the Iranian people do not deserve this current situation and the main reason laying at the bottom of the problem is the lack of a democratic constitution and a democratic mentality. Iran is at a crossroads. It will either accept the social reality of the people and recognise Kurdish, Azeri, Arab, Beluji people and all the other religious and national minority by opening the doors of democracy or the history will repeat itself and it will face the consequences of dictatorship. stated in the declaration.
Concerning the Kurdish problem in Iran PJAK added: We are insisting on a political and peaceful solution for the Kurdish problem. If the Iranian regime takes steps the clashes will become meaningless. The ceasefire declared by our party two years ago is the most obvious way to express out good faith and sincerity in the solution. The Islamic Republic of Iran should be aware of the fact that PJAK is insisting on a democratic and political methods.
The declaration follows: PJAK believes that the problems of the peoples in Iran cannot be solved through war, shedding blood, security mentality of the state, separation or nationalism. In order to meet the legitimate and democratic demands of the peoples of Iran endeavours for a peaceful and political solution will be the most appropriate way.
PJAK declared its approach to the current situation in Iran and enumerated 7 conditions for a democratic solution.
1- Kurdish problem should be officially recognised in Iran and it will be solved through dialog and democratic methods.
2- The necessary steps for creating a dialog atmosphere and starting negotiations should be taken.
3- In order to be able to start negotiations and a dialog so that politics can play its role a violence-free environment should be created. Therefore, military operations should be ended.
4- All the political, cultural rights and the freedom of expression of all the people in Iran should be secured and all the existing obstacles and restrictions should be abolished.
5- The right to political and democratic assemble and action of the people in Iran should be recognised.
6- A nation without language (linguistic rights) cannot be defined as a nation. Therefore, all cultural, ethnic and national diversities are facing suppression. All the languages in Iran including Kurdish should be granted a formal status, taught at school, and used by official bodies.
7- The climate of fear should be eliminated and for a free participation a democratic environment should be created. The political prisoners should be released and death penalty should be abolished.
PJAK Assembly has also stated that the declaration is not limited only to Kurds and it will create the necessary basis for all the other nations in order to solve their problems.
