PKK Prison Committee Member Pîro Dersim assessed in a special program of Radio Dengê Welat the current situation in the prisons and in the country and analysed what kind of struggle should be undertaken to counter the AKP-MHP fascist attacks.
PKK Prison Committee Member Pîro Dersim said that an approach that will meet and frustrate the fascist attacks of the AKP-MHP, is to be put forward, as it is a heed to think to defeat the AKP in an election. Underlining that the AKP-MHP fascism will be forced to go with resistance, not with election, Dersim continued: "Currently, preparations for an election are underway. These fascist powers are preparing an election environment that will keep itself alive and maintain its power.”
Dersim added that “a real front of resistance should be formed against the AKP-MHP fascism and its practices. I cannot say there is no opposition in Turkey, there is opposition. The opposition's struggle style and understanding of struggle is wrong, it is going for the easy option, it is not an understanding of struggle that claim a price. It has to be noted that there is no other force that fought openly against AKP-MHP fascism, except for the freedom struggle and the HBDH components. It is necessary to put the society on the street, especially the social struggle against AKP-MHP fascism, and to establish a serious resistance front in the streets. If this does not happen, the AKP-MHP fascism will create the environment it wants, will benefit from this environment and extend its life.”
Calling on lawyers, bar associations, and law organizations, Dersim said: "The AKP-MHP has thrown all sections of society it fears in prison. Therefore, if we are against AKP-MHP fascism and want it to be eliminated, if we accept what it is doing is persecution, we have to protect the prisoners. Revolutionary prisoners must be protected. It is necessary to fulfil our duties and responsibilities towards these people.”
Dersim continued: “If everybody creates a front of resistance against fascism, even a small social mobilization can destroy it. We believe that a new struggle will develop both in prisons and abroad in the upcoming period. With this struggle, we can deal a heavy blow to the AKP-MHP fascism, which won’t be able to create the ground and the environment it wants, it will wear out and disappear. We believe this. We believe that all sensitive segments will also see and claim this approach. On this basis, we convey our greetings, love and respect to our comrades in the prison and to Leader Apo [Abdullah Ocalan].
