Thousands of people have already reached the area where the Newroz celebration in Van will be held. The people, wearing with their national clothes, began to reach the area since the early hours of the morning from two different points.

The people are shouting slogans for HDP Kocaeli MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, who was detained in the Turkish Parliament early this morning

The area of the festival is decorated with colourful balloons.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) co-chair Saliha Aydeniz and HDP Van MP Sezai Temelli will speak at the celebration while artists Azad Bedran, Xecê and Komaz Awaz will take the stage.
