Peace in Kurdistan Campaign issued a solidarity statement to mark the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The statement reads as follows: "Today, April 24th, is Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, marking 106 years since the start of the Armenian Genocide, when the Ottoman Turks massacred approximately 1.5 million Armenians during World War I.

This commemoration takes place in the shadow of the latest genocidal violence against the Armenian people - the premeditated Turkish-Azeri attack on Armenians in the Caucasus in September-November, 2020. Turkey remains an authoritarian state with a massive record of human rights' violations, ethnic cleansing, and genocide.

On this anniversary of the Armenian Genocide we extend our sympathies and full support to Armenian survivors across the world; call for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide of 1915; and hold the Turkish republic accountable for the destruction of Armenian civilization in Turkey today."
