As a result of a new political genocide operations in Mersin, several houses were raided by police including the home of Mesopotamia Agency (MA) correspondent Mehmet Fırat Öksüz.

Many people have been taken to custody after the raids.

The detainees were taken to the Political Branch of the Provincial Police Department where it was learned that they won't be allowed to see their lawyers for 24 hours.

Among the people taken into custody were Yahya Yel, Hasan Yel, Abdulvahap Eren and Cihan Vural.
