MP Yildiz: We are stronger after the referendum

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) MP Bengi Yildiz said the Kurdish movement became stronger after the referendum.

Speaking to ANF hours before the opening of the new legislation term Yildiz said BDP will put the demands of education in mother language and democratic autonomy to the parliament's agenda.

Yildiz also said that BDP will force Turkish government to make the necessary amendments for the country's accession to the European Union.

"We will show a strong effort for peaceful solution to the Kurdish problem" Yildiz said.

Speaking on the constitutional referendum results Yildiz said BDP is stronger than ever and this will have a positive impact on the effectiveness of the party in the new legislation term of the Turkish parliament.

"Kurds showed their colors in the referendum. They sent this message to the state and government: 'We are of a different nation, carry a different identity, speak a different language and you have to consider me.' This message strengthened our position" he said.

"Turkey should take some steps on Kurdish issue. We believe that all political parties must take responsibility and the parliament should be the address for a solution" Yildiz told ANF.

He also said that PKK's decision to extend the ceasefire for another month is a chance for peace and called the parliament to evaluate this step.
