Motion to strip HDP MP Sarıyıldız of parliamentary seat approved

Turkish Parliamentary Joint Commission has decided to revoke the parliamentary membership of HDP Şırnak MP Faysal Sarıyıldız who described the decision as “totally illegitimate”.

Turkish Parliament's Joint Commission has approved a motion for the revocation of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputy for Şırnak, Faysal Sarıyıldız's parliamentary membership due to lack of attendance, and conveyed the motion to the plenary.

Sarıyıldız spoke to ANF and stressed that he will not recognize the action.

HDP MP said he was expecting such a decision, adding: “The action taken against me at the parliamentarty commission today has not surprised me, it was already an expected one as judiciary in Turkey has long been trampled on the instructions of the tyrant that is ruling the country.”

According to Sarıyıldız, “This action is the last phase of the process that started with burning towns to the ground and burning people alive in basements in Kurdistan, and continued with trampling on all juridical values against our party that put a strain on this government and system the most, and putting thousands of members and executives of our party behind bars.”

“ERDOĞAN WILL BE PROSECUTED”

Remarking that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be prosecuted for the crimes he has committed, HDP MP continued; “We are not surprised by this decision that has been made in a process when every word uttered by a tyrant, who is possessed by fear and hysteria despite holding all the means of the state, is considered to be superior to all laws.

However, this empire of fear will collapse and the sick tyrant involved in war crimes will be prosecuted. I have full trust in this and I will continue to work to this end as a responsibility given to me by our long-suffering people. Our people gave me this authority and only they can take it back. The tyrant in the palace cannot strip me off this authority. For this reason, I do not recognize this decision which is totally illegitimate.”
