Following the detention of 5 people in house raids the other day in Þýrnak, 2 more people were detained in two separate house raids this morning.
While the 5 detainees were still giving testimony, police and gendarme raided two separate houses in Nuh District this morning. Messing up the houses at 04.00 in the morning, police detained two citizens Sedik Batmaz and Musa Kütler. Detainee Musa Kütler’s brother Abdulkerim Kütler told that police messed up their house and didn’t find anything. Explaining that children were scared during the raid, Kütler spoke as follows; “What was done to us is beyond humanity, Islam and conscience. They are raiding our houses at 4 o’clock in the morning. The whole family is depressed now. My father is a 90 year-old man, whom they showed no respect and threw beddings on him during his sleep. This is beyond humanity. We are not going anywhere, so we will go by ourselves if they call us. They are raiding our houses as they wish although we didn’t commit a crime.”
While 7 people have been detained with the house raids so far, the detainees are accused of “carrying supply to PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) members.” Related with the event, police started an investigation on the phone records of Þýrnak Municipality.
