More arrested in political genocide operations in Turkey

The AKP regime continues its political genocide operations against the Kurdish people and democratic circles.

Two people have been jailed in Amed, one HDP member in Antalya and 5 people have been detained in Ankara in today’s operations.

AMED

Sakine Bozkuş (67) and her son Ahmet Bozanlı, who were detained during house raids conducted by soldiers in Bağlan (Mişrif) village in Amed’s Lice district Friday evening, have been imprisoned.

The 67 years old woman was facing a lawsuit because of a demonstration she had joined in 2012 and has reportedly received 6 years and 3 months prison sentence. While Sakine Bozkuş was sent to Diyarbakır E Type Prison, her son, the cause for whose detention is not known, has been put in Diyarbakır D Type Prison.

ANTALYA

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) member Muhittin Kaya was taken into custody by the police at a checkpoint while travelling from Adana to Antalya last night. After procedures at Adana police department and testimony to Antalya Judge of Execution via Sound and Vision Information Technology System, Kaya was remanded in custody on charges of “membership to a terrorist organization” and sent to Antalya L Type Closed Prison.

ANKARA

As the hunger strike of dismissed educators Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça continues on its 255th day, the demonstration “We want our job back” staged at Ankara’s central Yüksel Avenue has left 375 days behind. Police forces attacked the demonstrators here as they unfurled their banner, and tore down the banner. Surrounding the demonstrators with shields, police battered and detained five people while also preventing journalists from covering the protest.
