92 people, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, were taken into custody on March 19 within the scope of an investigation into alleged corruption and links with 'terrorist organizations' carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. 

After four days in custody, the detainees were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace this morning with a request for arrest.

Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is also the President of the Union of Municipalities of Turkey, was released on judicial control conditions as part of the “urban reconciliation” investigation but was remanded in custody within the scope of the “corruption” investigation. A decision is still expected in the terror-related investigation, which centers on the cooperation between the Republican People’s Party (CHP) and the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party in last year’s municipal elections. As part of this alliance, the DEM Party refrained from fielding candidates in certain districts or ran candidates on CHP lists, allowing them to secure municipal council seats.

Prosecutors launched an investigation into this cooperation last month, alleging that the collaboration was orchestrated by the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party). The probe has already led to the detention of municipal officials and council members from various Istanbul district municipalities.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office claims that İmamoğlu aided the KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) through the "City Consensus".

While 9 people were released on condition of judicial control, those remanded in custody within the scope of the "corruption" investigation are as follows:
