Democratic parties and institutions announced that they will hold a march to Gemlik against the isolation imposed upon Kurdish people's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The march will start on 6 February from Yüksekova and Kızıltepe.

The Democratic Society Congress (DTK), Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and several democratic institutions announced that they will hold a march to Gemlik against the isolation imposed upon Kurdish people's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The march will start on 6 February from Yüksekova and Kızıltepe.

Following the announcement, several calls have been made to attend the march.

The Free Women's Movement (TJA), the association in solidarity with relatives of prisoners and disappeared people, announced their participation.

The slogan of the march is “We are marching to Imrali for a solution".

DBP Gever Provincial co-chair Evliya Alkan said that the aggravated isolation against Kurdish people's Leader Abdullah Öcalan has continued uninterruptedly for 24 years. Alkan said: "As the isolation of Mr. Öcalan continued, the conditions of the war deepened, the people became impoverished because of the budgets allocated for the war."

Alkan said that there is a need for social peace and a democratic solution to the crisis and added: “The key to this solution is Mr. Abdullah Öcalan.”
