Lawyers' appeal to visit Ocalan rejected
Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan’s lawyers’ appeal to visit their clients was rejected by the Bursa Prosecutor’s Office for the 171st time.
Abdullah Öcalan's lawyers, Rezan Sarıca, Faik Özgür Erol and Fuat Coşacak appealed to Bursa Prosecutor’s Office. The appeal was rejected.
"For the purpose of implementing sanctions and security measures under Law No 5275, the sentenced person was subject to restrictions," prosecutor’s office said.
Since 27 July 2011, every appeal of Ocalan’s lawyers has been rejected. Ocalan has been denied legal counsel for more than six years.
He is subject to total isolation on the prison island Imralı in the Sea of Marmara.
