Labor Party (EMEP) Leader Selma Gürkan spoke to Gazete Karınca and stated that they have decided to support the HDP in June 24’s presidential and parliamentary elections.

Gürkan said the following; “It is urgent to stop the building of one-man and one-party rule and we will insist on that. The AKP-MHP bloc has made every effort to obstruct other parties from joining the elections, and worked in order for HDP to remain under the election threshold. Under these circumstances, it is of great importance for the HDP overcome the threshold.”

Gürkan added; “In this respect, we as EMEP believe that HDP should be supported for the sake of Turkey’s democracy and future, that HDP should be voted for, and that Selahattin Demirtaş should be supported in presidential election. We will also issue a call to this end.”
