Kurdish youth activist lost his eye after being shot at military checkpoint

Democratic Patriotic Youth activist Sedat Karadag lost one eye after he was shot in the head in a miltiary checkpoint in Hakkari.

DYG Yüksekova Council Spokesman Sedat Karadað, who was wounded with a soldier bullet on 10 December in Yüksekova, was brought back to Van from Ankara where he was taken for treatment. Karadað was not even treated as he lost his one eye entirely and put in prisoner ward of YYÜ Research Hospital in Van. Karadað, who is still in a life-critical situation, started a hunger strike due to the arbitrary applications. Karadað has eaten nothing for the last 5 days.

While Karadað is reported not allowed to see anyone from his family, doctors and his family have been trying to persuade him to stop the hunger strike. Authoritative expressed that Karadað will enter a hard process unless he doesn’t end the hunger strike.
