The Kurdistan Communities in Germany (KON-MED) urged the Kurdish people to take to the streets on April 9 to defend Kurdistan against the occupation forces in a spirit of "national unity".

In a written statement on Thursday, KON-MED said the following:

“The colonialist fascist Turkish state is continuing its attacks against the Kurdish people by occupying Kurdistan. These attacks aim to deprive the Kurdish people of their status and to destroy all their achievements. The occupying Turkish state wants to get results through its cooperation with the KDP and the support of international forces. The AKP-MHP fascism is going through its weakest period. For this reason, it is currently pursuing policies of occupation, attack and massacre.

“There have been numerous resistances carried out against colonialist states in the 20th century. Beginning from the struggles of Sheikh Said, Seyid Rıza and Dr. Qasimlo, the Kurdish people have always been in constant struggle. All these great struggles were defeated not by the colonialists themselves but through internal collaborators. History repeats itself today. The KDP’s collaboration and betrayal help the occupying Turkish state to eliminate the Freedom Movement and to destroy all the gains of the Kurdish people.

The Freedom Guerrilla, the only hope of the Kurdish people in all four parts of Kurdistan against all these attacks, is continuing to protect all the people of Kurdistan and its gains through its outstanding struggle against these invasion and massacre attacks. Being defeated by the guerrilla forces, the Turkish state is currently using chemical weapons, infringing human values ​​and international laws. It is carrying out massacres by bombing civilian settlements. With the recent land and air attacks, the occupying Turkish state is once again violating international conventions and committing war crimes!

Based on this reason, we as the Kurdish community in Germany, demand an independent investigation into the war crimes committed by the Turkish army. We urge the German government, the United Nations and the international community to stop turning a blind eye to these crimes against humanity for the sake of their economic interests and to support the just struggle of the Kurdish people!

'LET'S DEFEND KURDISTAN AGAINST INVASION AND KDP’S BETRAYAL'

We call on the Kurdish people to endorse national unity against occupation, genocide and the KDP’s betrayal.

On this basis, we in the KON-MED call on all our people living in Germany and all our anti-war friends to participate in the demonstrations to be held on April 9 under the motto 'Defend Kurdistan in the spirit of national unity against the Turkish occupation and KDP’s betrayal'.”
