The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Executive Board issued a statement condemning the Turkish state's escalating occupation and genocide attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria.
The statement called on coalition forces in the region, the United Nations, the United States, and the international community to respond decisively and fulfill their responsibilities without delay.
The KNK said: "From the very first day of the crisis in Syria, the occupying Turkish state and its proxies have launched direct attacks on areas under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The primary goal of the Turkish state is to occupy all of Northern and Eastern Syria, and to eliminate the gains of the Kurdish people. In addition to its attacks, Turkey is also intervening in all of Syria, seeking to establish its dominance over the entire region."
The statement added: "The Turkish state has mobilized all its military, political, and diplomatic power. It has deployed thousands of soldiers to the region and is carrying out relentless assaults on the Kurdish people using all kinds of weaponry, deliberately targeting civilians.
According to statements from the SDF, in recent weeks, 38 civilians, including women, children, journalists, and artists, have been killed. Most recently, Turkish warplanes bombed the town center of Sirrin, killing 13 civilians and injuring many others. Simultaneously, an attack was carried out on the town of Zirgan, where numerous civilians also lost their lives."
Call to international community
The KNK said: "The Turkishstate, through its attacks, is violating all international laws and agreements, committing crimes against humanity, and expanding its war in the region. While key infrastructure such as the Tishrin Dam and the Qereqozax Bridge has been targeted, assaults continue across the entire region of Northern and Eastern Syria. In the face of these attacks, the modern world, the International Coalition, and the United Nations remain silent, failing to show the necessary response. Their silence is shameful."
