Prime Minister of Federate Kurdistan Region and KPD Leader Mesut Barzani proclaimed that polygamy won’t be allowed for membership in the following party convention while bigamous marriage is intended to be averted.

KPD executive Berzan Mela Halit stated that there will be a 10 percent quota for women in the convention to come, adding that they might well apply for membership in the election during the convention.

Stating that a serious effort is given in South Kurdistan to prevent women rights and bigamy, Berzan Mela Halit said; “Upon the decision made by Prime Minister Barzani, bigamists won’t be entitled for membership in the next KDP convention”.
