KCDK-E to launch hunger strike in Strasbourg tomorrow

A hunger strike will be launched in Europe in solidarity with the prison hunger strike ongoing in Turkey jails for 57 days now. HDP MPs Faysal Sarıyıldız and Tuğba Hezer will also join the hunger strike.

As support grows for the massive hunger strike in Turkey jails against the repressive fascist policies of the AKP-Erdoğan regime, solidarity actions and protests in support of the hunger strikers are also spreading across Europe.

50 executive representatives of the European Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) will start a hunger strike in the French city of Strasbourg at 13:00 on April 13, Thursday.

Participants of the hunger strike include;

HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) MPs Faysal Sarıyıldız and Tuğba Hezer,

KCDK-E (Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress) Co-chair Yüksel Koç,

NAV-DEM (Democratic Kurdish Society Center in Germany) Co-chair Fatoş Göksungur,

NAV-BEL (Democratic Kurdish Society Center in Belgium) Co-chair Arife Soysüren,

DEMNED (Democratic Kurdish Society Center in the Netherlands) Co-chair Hüseyin Yıldız,

FEDA (European Democratic Alevi Federation) Co-chair Veli Kaya,

CiK (Kurdistan Islamic Society) representative Melle Mustafa,

TJK-E (European Kurdish Women's Movement) representative Hanim Engizek,

Ciwanen Azad (Kurdish Free Youth) representative Ahmet Yıldırım.

In a written statement about the action, KCDK-E recalled that the prison hunger strike has entered its 57th day, and called for worldwide support and participation in the hunger strikes, mainly from the socialists, democrats, revolutionaries, intellectuals and those siding with humanity.

KCDK-E stressed that silence meant approving the AKP policies and massacres in Kurdish cities, and called for mobilization against the inhumane practices of the AKP regime.
