On the 3rd day of the "Justice Vigil" in Istanbul, it was emphasized that the third way front struggle should be strengthened by being aware of the social dynamics.
The "Justice Vigil" launched by Istanbul Labor, Peace and Democracy Forces in Beyoğlu against the usurpation of Hakkari (Colemêrg) Municipality ended its third day.
The vigil will continue today between 19.00 and 22.00 in Şişhane Square.
People's Democratic Congress (HDK) co-speakers Esengül Demir and Cengiz Çiçek, People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Istanbul MP Çiçek Otlu, Kezban Konukçu as well as Labor and Freedom Alliance components attended the action. A free platform was established during the vigil.
The press release was reade by DEM Party Istanbul Second Region co-spokesperson Gizem Kuzu. Describing the occupation policies as an intervention in the process of disintegration and collapse of the AKP-MHP government, Gizem Kuzu said: "In this period, we must define a line of struggle by establishing, growing and strengthening common struggle grounds everywhere."
Noting that the coup should not be seen only as an intervention in the right to vote and be elected, Gizem Kuzu said that behind this was the idea of deepening the occupation and war policies in all parts of Kurdistan. “Thus, the usurpation aims to ensure that the Kurdish people remain without status in the Middle East and to neutralize the united struggle of the people by eliminating an important social struggle dynamic in Turkey. We must be aware of the accumulation of social anger in the process leading to the Gezi and Kobanê rebellions. Moreover, if we can be successful in unlocking this potential, we can already prevent many tendencies of the government, especially possible new political coups. Although the Van example remains vivid in our memories, unlike Van, it seems that it will be the provinces other than Hakkari that will make the trustee coup take a step back. Istanbul will be a fate-determining city in this sense."
