Israeli President Herzog to visit Turkey

While returning from Kiev on February 4, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Turkey could use Israeli natural gas and work together to deliver it to Europe.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog is expected to visit Turkey on March 9-10.

“A delegation of senior Turkish officials will arrive in Israel this week ahead of President Isaac Herzog's planned visit to Turkey to discuss relations between the two countries,” the office of Israeli President Herzog said in a statement.

However, the statement did not give information about the exact date of Herzog's visit to Turkey.

While returning from Kiev on February 4, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his Israeli counterpart is planning to pay a visit to Turkey in mid-March.

Erdogan stated that Turkey could use Israeli natural gas and work together to deliver it to Europe.

Israel and Turkey have maintained diplomatic relations despite conflicts over a series of issues.

According to a report by Israeli news site Ynet on February 10, Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alon Ushpiz secretly visited Turkey and met with Erdogan's consultant İbrahim Kalın.

Ushpiz is reported to have been the first senior Israeli official to visit Turkey in the last six years.
