President Salih said in a post: “In addition to violations of the right to sovereignty and the forced displacement of civilians from their homes, deforestation in Hirur and Batifa and other areas of the Kurdistan region are both inhumane practices and a crime against the environment. Our task is to establish practical coordination between the federal and regional government to stop these violations and punish those responsible for them.”
