The Iraqi Consulate General in Istanbul was attacked by men carrying long-barreled weapons.  The two men who attacked the building in Şişli fled the scene on a motorcycle. After the incident, which claimed no deaths or injuries, the police closed off the area around the consulate.

Extra security measures were taken at Iraqi missions in Ankara and Antep.
