Iranian soldier's gunfire wounded 4 Kurds

Four Kurds were wounded by Iranian soldiers gunfire in two seperate incidents in Van and Sardast.

According to local sources two Kurds, who were trying to cross the Iran-Turkey border illegally, near Baskale, Van, were shot by Iranian soldiers yesterday.

Ekrem Sahin (20) and Cevad Akacani (15) were shot as they were trying to cross the border to attend a wedding of their relative in Iran. The wounded Kurds were taken to Guvendik village and then transferred to a hospital in Van. Both are reported to be in serious condition.

In Sardast, a town in East Kurdistan, Iranian soldiers shot and wounded two Kurds during a raid in Betuse village.

Iranian army raided the village to arrest suspected smugglers yesterday. Iranian army opened fire to the villagers as they were trying to protect the smugglers who are from the same village.

Two Kurds named Seid Imami and Dilshad were wounded in the incident.

A clash broke out soon after the incident with smugglers and Iranian army which left two Iranian soldiers wounded.

No further details were avaible about the incident.
