Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who made his first foreign visit to Iraq, visited Hewlêr (Erbil) after his meetings in Baghdad.
Pezeshkiyan landed in Hewlêr in the morning and was welcomed by Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani at the airport. The two are expected to discuss many issues.
Following his visit to Hewlêr, Masoud Pezeshkiyan will visit Sulaymaniyah and meet with the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafil Talabani.
Pezeshkiyan will then continue his visits to different cities in Iraq.
Pezeshkian's first visit abroad started on 11 September and will last for three days.
During his first day in Baghdad, 14 agreements were signed in different fields; economy, educational cooperation, youth and sports, cultural exchange, art, archeology, education, media cooperation, transportation, religious tourism groups, cooperation in the free zone, agriculture, natural resources, postal services, social protection, vocational and technical education, development of skilled labour and cooperation with chambers of commerce.
On Wednesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, as well as Iraqi President Latif Rashid and President of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council, Faik Zeidan.
