Iranian Foreign Minister to travel to Iraq and Kurdistan Region

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kenani announced that Ali Bakiri, the acting Iranian Foreign Minister, will visit Iraq tomorrow.
Kenani stated that Ali Bakidi would visit the Kurdistan Region on Friday (14 June) and evaluate the situation in the region with officials from Iraq and Kurdistan Region.
The spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry also stated that after Erbil, Bakiri would go to Sulaymaniyah.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died on 19 May 2024, when the helicopter carrying him crashed due to adverse weather conditions. In addition to President Ebrahim Raisi, the dead included Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati and Tabriz Ayatollah Muhammad Ali Al-e-Hasham.
Ali Bakiri was then appointed as the acting Foreign Minister of Iran.
