Iran detains 20 protestors in Kermanshah

Iranian police detained at least 20 protestors in Kermanshah in eastern Kurdistan on Saturday.

After demonstrations against economic situation and corruption Iranian police started a crackdown against Kurdish activists in Kermanshah.

According to local sources in the city, Iranian police detained at least 20 activists. They were taken to the Itlaat (Iranian intelligence agency) building in the city centre.

Dozens of families appealed to Kurdistan Human Rights Association for legal assistance after the detentions.

The governor of Kermanshah confirmed that there are people in custody and claimed that some were released.
