Indefinite-irreversible hunger strike launched in Elazığ Prison

The massive hunger strike in Turkish jails is spreading with the participation of more political prisoners every day.

Political prisoners in Elazığ Prison, where some a thousand inmates are jailed, have been on an alternate hunger strike for a while. The hunger strike has been turned into an indefinite-irreversible one as of April 7 with the participation of two political prisoners from each ward.

The indefinite-irreversible hunger strike in Elazığ Prison will also continue until the demands of prisoners are accepted; end to the isolation imposed upon the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, rights violations in prisons, rights violations during the State of Emergency and the blockade on Kurdish cities.
