Hundreds of refugees from Deir ez-Zor city and its northern countryside walked for dozens of kilometres before reaching the liberated areas under the control of the fighters of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The displaced civilians, most of whom are women and children, crossed the desert in a bid to flee from the atrocities of ISIS and from the bombardments and shelling of Russia and the Syrian regime until finally reaching the safe areas liberated by SDF fighters. The fighters offered the refugees support and led them to safe zones.
The Rojava Relief Agency provided the displaced civilians with food supplies and daily life goods. The Kurdish Red Crescent (Heyva Sor a Kurd) took care of the medical aid for the refugees. They distributed medicines to the ill ones and transferred those with serious conditions to the hospitals in Hesekê city.
Rojava Relief Agency member Eli Mihemed said no matter where in Northern Syria they welcome the refugees, they will always be there to help them and offer them aid within the bounds of their possibilities.
Employees of the Kurdish Red Crescent (Heyva Sor a Kurd) also confirmed providing the necessary medicines for the sick persons and taking those with serious conditions to the hospitals in Hesekê city.
