After the approval of the sentences in criminal proceedings against the HDP deputies Selma Irmak and Osman Baydemir, both have lost their parliamentary seats.
HDP members left the General Assembly before the discussion of the motion asking for both deputies to be stripped of their deputy status, which was approved after the discussion.
With this latest removal, HDP’s seat in the parliament fell from 59 to 48.
