HDP holds popular meeting in Erciş

At events in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan, the HDP consults with various social groups and the local population on a joint approach to government policy. Saliha Aydeniz visited Erciş in this context.

Within the framework of the HDP's "Democratic Struggle Program", events and meetings will be held in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan until World Peace Day on September 1, where politicians will present their views on the requirements for democratizing the country and exchange views with various social groups and the local population.

Kurdish politician Saliha Aydeniz, co-chair of the HDP member party DBP, visited the Erciş district today on a round trip through the province of Van. During a meeting at the headquarters of the HDP district branch, Aydeniz stated that the AKP/MHP government has launched a massive attack on all institutions and values of the Kurdish people. In order to counter this dirty policy, she said, joint action must be discussed.

Aydeniz emphasized that the Kurdish people mount great resistance, saying; “The system built up according to the ideas of Abdullah Ocalan in Rojava has become a model worldwide, giving people hope for the possibility of a different life. For this reason, Rojava is under attack by the ruling powers. The Kurdish people are under a fierce attack. The attacks that started in Rojava are continuing today in Southern Kurdistan and are getting a new dimension every day. At the same time the HDP-run municipalities in Northern Kurdistan are put under trustee administration. Self-governing institutions are closed, politicians are arrested. This is a political coup against the will of the voters.”

After the meeting the group around Saliha Aydeniz visited the business people in the district.
