HDP Batman MP Feleknas Uca and HDP Council of Europe Representative Fayik Yağızay met with CPT officials in Strasbourg.

Fayik Yağızay provided information after the meeting saying they conveyed the the Kurdish people's criticism of the CPT and called on the institution to take their responsibility. 

CPT is to be hold responsible for deaths

Fayik Yagizay said that he reminded the CPT officials of the hunger strikers’ demand to break isolation against Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Ocalan. He also reminded that the resistance was led by DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven and was soon joined by thousands of political prisoners and Kurdish activists from many parts of the world.

According to the information given by Yağızay, during the meeting, the CPT officials were told that deaths occurred in prisons also due to their failure to carry out their duties and that they were responsible for the new deaths that may occur. 

Fayik Yağızay added that the Kurdish people have been trying to make their voices heard by the European Council and CPT for days. “We have stated that the humanitarian demand of the Kurdish people is within the duty and jurisdiction of the CPT. Therefore, we reiterated the call to the CPT officials to find a solution to the problem as soon as possible.”
