HDP Bağlar Province co-chair Fatma Kavmaz was arrested on the allegation of "being a member of a terrorist organization".

On Monday, August 24, at 11 am, police teams summoned Kavmaz and asked for her home address saying 'you have a notification'.

Police teams raided the address and detained Kavmaz. Kavmaz, who was taken to the Diyarbakır Security Directorate, was sent to the prosecutor's office after her statement was taken.

The prosecutor referred Kavmaz's statement to the Diyarbakır 4th Criminal Court of Peace with a request for arrest. The judge declared the activities carried out on behalf of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) as a crime and decided that Kavmaz should be arrested for "membership of a terrorist organization".

Kavmaz was sent to Diyarbakır Women's Closed Prison after the ruling.
