HBDH hits Turkish military vehicle in Antep: 4 killed, 5 wounded

The left-wing guerrilla alliance HBDH has claimed responsibility for an attack on a Turkish military vehicle in the province of Antep. Four soldiers were killed and five others were seriously injured.

The "Zeynep Kınacı (Zilan) Revenge Unit" of the urban guerrilla of the Peoples’ United Revolutionary Movement (Halkların Birleşik Devrim Hareketi, HBDH) claimed responsibility for an action against a Turkish army vehicle on 21 June in the province of Antep. On Sunday, the HBDH militia targeted a military transporter on its way to the border in broad daylight. The vehicle was transporting nine soldiers, of whom four died and five others were injured. The militia then stormed the vehicle and seized weapons and ammunition.

The HBDH said: "The fascist AKP-MHP-regime is raising the level of war more and more and tries to silence the anger of the working class, women, youth, all oppressed people. But the AKP-MHP regime should not expect any other end than that of the soldiers in the vehicle that rolled over because of our effective strikes. It is a mission for the anti-fascist forces to unite as soon as possible and incflict the final blow to the faltering fascist system. In this century of revolts and uprisings, our united revolutionary struggle is awaiting victory.”

The HBDH dedicates its action to Kasim Engin. The member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fell in a Turkish air raid in Bradost region in Southern Kurdistan on May 27. The name of the revenge brigade Zeynep Kınacı is derived from the guerrilla fighter Zîlan. Zîlan had blown herself up in a military parade in Dersim on 30 June 1996.
