Hashd al-Shaabi reaches Northern Syria border

Hashd al-Shaabi forces have reached the Rojava-Northern Syria border as their military campaign south of Shengal continues.

Popular Mobilization Units Hashd al-Shaabi, which continues its campaign on ISIS-occupied villages south of Shengal, announced in a written statement that they have “performed a miracle and reached the Syrian border”.

According to reports, the Shia militia has reached the border by opening a corridor between the northern side of the Baaj town and the southern side of the Shangal town.

Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) started an operation on ISIS-occupied villages in southern Shengal in the first week of May, after which they advanced on the town of Qayrawan and captured it on May 23rd. The militia later took control of the Kocho village and continued their advance towards the Rojava-Northern Syria border.
