Erol Aydemir: 60 days on hunger strike in Rome

The Kurdish activist is receiving many visitors and on Saturday he was visited by Italy's largest trade union CGIL Secretary General, Roberto Giordano.

Kurdish activist Erol Aydemir has been on hunger strike for 60 days in Italy demanding the end of isolation.

Aydemir joined the resistance led by DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven, an wen on hunger strike in Sardinia before moving to Rome. 

The Kurdish activist is receiving many visitors and on Saturday he was visited by Italy's largest trade union CGIL Secretary General, Roberto Giordano.

Aydemir presented Giordano with a file on the hunger strike and death fast resistance.

Giordonano, on the other hand, said he came to express support and solidarity with the hunger strike resistance.

He added he would bring the issue of the hunger strike at the unions table as well as urging the government to act. Finally, he told Aydemir he hoped the isolation on Öcalan would be lifted and that the legitimate demands of the hunger strikers would be met.
