The General Management Board of Human Rights Association (ÝHD), which was elected in the 15th Ordinary General Meeting, held its first meeting. IHD Diyarbakýr Branch Chief Lawyer Muharrem Erbey, who is under arrest in the frame of KCK case, was assigned the Chair Assistant role in the meeting, where distributions of works were organized.

The IHD Administration leaded by Öztürk Türkdoðan, who was reelected with 15.Ordinary General Meeting, held its first meeting. Coming together under the presidency of Türkdoðan, the original and substitute members of general management determined the names of Co-Chairs and Secretary General after the 6 hours meeting. According to the amendments; IHD Diyarbakýr Branch Chief Lawyer Muharrem Erbey, who is still under arrest in the frame of KCK case, and Ex-Secretary General Sevim Salihoðlu were assigned to Chair Assistant role, while lawyer Emrah Ayhanlýoðlu was assigned to General Secretary. Besides, Selam Güngör was assigned to General Accounting, Ýsmail Poyraz to General Secretary Assistantship responsible for education, Metin Uzunöz to General Secretary Assistant role responsible for organization, Reþat Çetinbaþ and Gençaða Karafazlý to press.

Expressing the plans for the new period in the meeting, ÝHD General President Öztürk Türkdoðan stated that there exists a democracy and human rights problem in Turkey, adding that the Kurdish problem, religion and freedom for conscious are among the most important reasons of this problem. Türkdoðan said; “We now have difficult duties before us. We will overcome these difficulties all together. As ÝHD, we will actualize the language of peace”.
