European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued a warning to airlines against a possible airstrike against Syria.

Air France adjusted flights to Beirut and Tel Aviv after the EASA warning, issuing a statement that the aviation security officer of the company is closely monitoring the situation.

A spokesperson from the EASA spoke to the AFP and stated that the EASA and European aviation security organization Eurocontrol member states have been issued a warning on Tuesday against a possible air to ground or cruise missile attack in the next 72 hours.

Airlines have been warned to reroute their flights in the Mediterranean basin in particular.

Western governments including the US have issued threats that there could be a military attack against the Bashar Al-Assad regime in Syria at any time.

The tension arising from Syria between the US and Russia continues to escalate. US President Trump tweeted, “Get ready Russia, because [the missiles] will be coming, nice and new and “smart!””

US President Donald Trump gave harsh messages to Russia, and the tensions that rose due to allegations of chemical weapon use in Syria have escalated further with Trump’s messages.

The US President wrote the following tweets for Russia:

“Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!” You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!”

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Maria Zaharova responded to Trump and stated that smart missiles should be targeting terrorists, not legitimate governments.

Russia had previously stated that they would retaliate any possible interventions by the US.
