Dozens of people have been detained and many have been remanded in custody in the most recent operations in North Kurdistan, the Kurdish region of Turkey.
Co-mayor of Van's Erciş district, Diba Keskin, was detained by police teams that came to the municipality building and took her into custody on the grounds of a denunciation against her late yesterday evening. Keskin was taken to Erciş district police station.
On the other hand, three people who had been detained in Van's Çaldıran district on October 11 evening, were remanded in custody and jailed yesterday. The three are accused of “providing arms to an illegal organization”.
