Political genocide operations carried out by the illegitimate AKP government continue. Dozens more were detained this morning in house raids across Hakkari, Mardin, Erzurum, and Mersin, while 10 persons were formally arrested in İstanbul and Siirt.

HAKKARİ

Large group of special operation units raided the houses of Hakkari co-mayors Dilek Hatipoğlu and Nurallah Çiftçi, HDP Hakkari branch co-chair Rahmi Temel and DBP, HDP and Hakkari Democratic Society Assembly executives early this morning.

It has been reported that the security forces broke down the doors of the houses and damaged the furniture inside, while seizing tapes, letters and computers in the houses.

The co-mayors and the co-chairs of the DBP and HDP were not in the houses during the raids and therefore were not detained, while no information could be obtained if other politicians were detained during the operation.

It has been reported that the police forces held a two pages long list of the names of people about whom there is an arrest warrant.

MARDİN

Special operation units raided early this morning many houses in Saraçoğlu and Yenişehir neighbourhoods of Mardin’s Artuklu district, detaining 2 persons while also seizing the books, notebooks, CDs and posters hanged on wall in some houses. The detainees have been taken to Mardin Police Department, while it has been learned that 1 one of the detainees is suffering from cancer.

ERZURUM

Special operation units also launched simultaneous house raids in the İligöze, Beyköy, Çiçekdağı and Hamzanlar (Hêccergo) neighbourhoods of Erzurum’s Tekman district and detained 5 persons, who have been reportedly taken to the Police Department in the district.

MERSİN

Many persons, including former BDP district branch co-chair and other executives of the BDP have been detained in the house raids launched by the police forces early this morning in the Tarsus district of Mersin. The detainees have been taken to Tarsus Police Department.

İSTANBUL

13 persons who had been detained the previous day during the house raids in Bağcılar, Küçükçekmece, Esenyurt and Beyoğlu districts of Istanbul were sent to the courthouse today after the completion of the procedures in the police department. 3 persons were released following their testimonies at the prosecutors’ office, while 10 others were referred to the court on demand of arrest, where 7 were formally arrested and 3 were released.
