A demonstration was staged in Sydney, Australia in protest at the 3 august 2014 genocide perpetrated by ISIS against the Yazidi people in Shengal.

The demonstration was organised by the Democratic Kurdish Community Center (DTKM). Gathering at the Town Hall Square, the crowd protested the genocidal onslaught of the ISIS against Yazidi community and commemorated the victims of the bloody campaign.

Speakers stated that the ISIS attacks were aimed at total annihilation and criticized the governments of Iraq and Kurdistan region for failing to fulfil their responsibilities.

Demonstrators also denounced the genocidal attacks of the Turkish state and called on the United Nations to recognize the autonomous status of Shengal.
