Peace and Democracy Party's co-president Demirtas called for creation of a platform for a democratic constitution.
Speaking in a reception at Turkish parliament Demirtas said all parties and NGO's should speak out their expectations from the new constitution.
Demirtas labelled the 10 percent election threshold as the greatest obstacle against democratization of the constitution and called the government to act more brave on this issue.
"How can we make a new constitution with a parliament which does not represent the whole society" he said.
Demirtas said BDP will meet representatives of political parties which are not represented in the Turkish parliament to discuss about the new constitution.
Speaking about the operations against BDP officials in Urfa, Demirtas said they expect an explanation from the Interior Minister.
At least 40 BDP officials were arrested in house raids in Urfa yesterday.
The arrests came as Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay's visit to Hakkari and Sirnak.
Demirtas said the arrests will hamper the efforts for peace and held the Turkish government responsible for the operations.
"Their plan is based on a solution. They want to destroy the Kurdish movement" he said.
