Delegation from Hewler in Baghdad for talks on referendum

A delegation from Southern Kurdistan has arrived in Baghdad for talks to discuss the referendum.

Hours before the independence referendum in Southern Kurdistan scheduled for September 25, a delegation from Hewlêr has arrived in Baghdad for talks with the Iraqi central government.

The delegation is made up of Roj Nûrî Şawêys and Fûad Hisên from KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party), PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan) Spokesperson Sedî Ehmed Pîrê, Mihemed Ehmed, Romya Hekarî, Viyan Dexîl as well as Assyrian, Chaldean and Turkmen representatives.

The delegation held the first meeting with Iraqi President Fuad Masum and is expected to meet with officials from Shia National Alliance and Iraqi central government.
