DBP co-chair Mehmet Arslan arrested
The co-chair of Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Mehmet Arslan was arrested for “being a member of an armed organization”.
The co-chair of Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Mehmet Arslan was arrested for “being a member of an armed organization”.
DBP’s co-chair Arslan was taken to court in Diyarbakır on Thursday after two days in detention in Diyarbakir Security Directorate. The Diyarbakır Court on Duty ordered for Arslan’s arrest for “being a member of an armed organization” and sent him to prison.
Arslan is the second co-chair of DBP to be arrested since 2016. DBP’s former co-chair Sebahat Tuncel was arrested on October 2016 and is in Kandıra F Type Prison.
