Clashes intensify, no advances for Turkish army in Afrin

After five days of fighting Turkish army and its gangs failed to make any advances against Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Intense clashes broke out in the Hemame village in the Cindires district as part of the Turkish army and their allied gangs’ attacks on Afrin. Sources say 3 soldiers, dozens of FSA members including the Semerkand Brigade Commander General Ahmed Feyyaz and 1 YPG fighter have lost their lives in the clashes.

The Turkish army and their allied gangs’ attacks on the Afrin city center, districts and villages has entered day 5. According to reports from the region, despite intense aerial attacks, the Turkish army and their allied gangs have not managed to advance on land.

Sporadic intense clashes continue in the region, while the soldiers and their allied gangs who have failed to advance are attempting to enter the Hemame village in the Cindirese district. In clashes with YPG/YPJ forces there, 3 soldiers and dozens of FSA members including the Semerkand Brigade Commander General Ahmed Feyyaz and 1 YPG fighter have lost their lives.

2 YPG members were wounded in these clashes while reports say 4 civilians lost their lives in projectiles fired from the operation tanks and 12 civilians were wounded.

The Turkish army and their allied gangs have fired on the Girê Qestelê, Qestelê, Xedamat and Vîlla Qadî villages and the Baflon and Dîkmedaş hills with Howitzers and tanks, then had to withdraw when the attack was retaliated.

In the Reco region, intense clashes continued throughout yesterday. YPG/YPJ fighters claim the Turkish army and their allied gangs have many casualties in the Qude village and Qude hill. YPG members have reportedly destroyed one tank, one pickup truck and one armored vehicle, while they confiscated an Akrep type armored vehicle following the clashes in the Kumreş village.

One YPG fighter has lost his life in the Qudê village and Moseka Hill aerial bombings while 3 civlians were wounded.

Fighter jets have bombed the Bilbile district, Bilbile Hill and the Şexurze village until late last night.
