Turkish and Iranian soldiers mistakenly opened fire to each other twice in the last five days. At least seven Iranian soldiers were killed in the incidents.

According to locals Turkish and Iranian soldiers set up an ambush for smugglers who are active through the border zone. In two seperate incidents near Kelaresh and Kalika, Turkish and Iranian soldiers clashed with each other while both sides thought that they ambushed smugglers.

At least seven Iranian soldiers were killed.

It's not clear if any Turkish soldiers were killed or wounded in the region.
