Child wounded by soldier in Þýrnak

A 14 year-old child was shot by soldiers with a gun in Kumçatý (Dêrgulê) town of Þýrnak. Critically wounded child was taken to hospital.

According to the reports received, Emin Açar (15) and his brother Ahmet Açar (14) were playing in front of their house next to Ýkizce Tank Battalion when they were called by the soldier on guard. Shots were heard at the scene soon after Ahmet Açar went to the soldier. Emin Açar saw his brother lie on the ground in blood when he ran to the venue.

Emin Açar told that the body of his brother was taken to the entrance and kept there waiting for half an hour, although he asked soldiers to call an ambulance. Ahmet Açar was afterwards taken to Þýrnak State Hospital by soldiers.

Açar was taken into operation and reported to be critical. Doctors stated that Açar was shot with a G3 infantry rifle on liver. Açar’s family and relatives came to the hospital, while the town residents run to Açar’s family.

Following the first treatment, Açar was sent to Diyarbakýr with a military helicopter. Açar is reported to be still in a critic situation.
