BDP Headquarters attacked

Pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) headquarters in Ankara was attacked with firework crackers. It is reported that the attacker threw the firework crackers in the building while walking by and then attacked an employee called Mustafa Sontekin with a bayonet.

The attacker who was doing finger-sing of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) then was arrested by the police. It is also reported that the attacker could fire only a bunch of several crackers he had with him.

Eyewitness reported that the attacker was shouting like: “You dogs, we are gonna kill you all, you are not entitled to live in this country. We have given so many martyrs but we will not give you even a span of soil” as he attempted to attack the employee. Mustafa Sontekin was reported to have no injuries as the attacker was stopped by the police.

This was the first attack against BDP building. However, DTP headquarters which was in the same building before it was shut down by the constitutional Court has been attacked several times by Turkish nationalist groups. Once it has also been attacked by pump rifles and the attacker was arrested.
