BDP criticized government's absence in Silvan

BDP Co-Chair, Gultan Kisanak was in Silvan. Addressing the crowd Kisanak said that "if the state claims ‘to be’ in Silvan, this must be the reason why it can be here. The duty of governor and police is to enable people do their acts without any preventions. This is how it works in democratic countries where the security measures during such protest acts are taken to protect the demonstration right. However, it is the exact opposite by us where panzers robocops and even armed police are lined up to prevent the most democratic right of people. The reason is that people make a protest act. This is just suspending democracy. This is the restriction of rights and freedoms. This is putting police panzer, arm and gas bomb in front of rights and freedoms”.

Kisanak added that “ultimately, people were stopped at a point and an intervention environment was created. What’s more, the point they stand is meaningful. In front of Security Directorate. We want to ask to authorities why they stopped this march just in front of Security Directorate, they were going to pass by there and go to where they would make the press statement. The answer is to be given by the governor and security director. And an explosion erupts not too long after they were stopped. We see that police starts to attack on the group at the same time with gas bombs. A friend of us was injured to be taken to hospital, while tens were wounded to receive ambulatory treatment”.

Reminding that 4 wounded were taken under treatment in Diyarbakýr hospitals, Kýþanak said that of the causalities, one carries the risk of losing his eye, while a young woman lost two of her fingers. Kýþanak added that the woman was taken under treatment in a hospital in Ankara.
