Ayten Kýrtay is a young woman. Her fingers were severed in the explosion that occurred at the meeting on December 19 in Silvan. Ayeten was arrested by Silvan Republic Prosecution Office. Kýrtay, who lost three fingers, is still in the hospital for medical treatment. Ten years ago, 19 December 2000, the Justice Ministry ordered a bloody operation against 20 prisons which resulted in the death of 32 people. The prisoners were on a death fast asking for better conditions and an end to the isolation policies by the State. The operation was grimly called 'return to life'.

According to the Diyarbakýr Public Prosecution Office, Kýrtay lost her fingers while trying to throw a molotov cocktail. The prosecutor also banned her to see her families in the hospital.
