Attack on HDP building in Ankara

The office of the HDP association in Keçiören, Ankara has been attacked. A woman and a man set fire to several flags on the building.

A presumed fascist attack was carried out on the party building of the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) in Keçiören district of Ankara last night. Two persons unknown by name set fire to the flags of the HDP attached to the building and fled.

The Keçiören district police directorate has taken over the investigation into the incident. The male suspect is said to have already been arrested. Behram Dağ, co-chair of the HDP district association, has filed charges of deliberate arson.

The attack in Ankara is the second that targeted the HDP this month. A party building in the Bakırköy district of Istanbul had been attacked three weeks ago. Windows and doors were smashed and excrement was left in front of the office. One man who was temporarily arrested in connection with the attack was an AKP supporter.
